FAQ Lycée - Athena Montessori Bailly

Frequently asked questions about lycée

Answers to specific questions parents have about the Montessori school

Will my child be able to go to the best universities and colleges?

Absolutely. Our students are registered on Parcoursup like any other French high school student, and we support them through this crucial stage. Every year, 100% of our students are admitted to their first choice of university. They regularly enter the most prestigious establishments: Sciences Po, Oxford, Cambridge, preparatory classes, business schools and medical faculties in France and abroad. Their solid academic record, exceptional level of English (Cambridge C1/C2 certifications) and independent profile are major assets both for Parcoursup and for international applications (UK, USA, Canada).

How does my child prepare for the baccalauréat and their Parcoursup application?

At our school, students sit the official baccalauréat exams: the early French exams in Première, then the specialised exams and the Grand Oral in Terminale, in accordance with the national framework. Throughout the year, they benefit from structured academic preparation, regular practice sessions and demanding mock bacs, so that they can approach each exam with method and confidence. For Parcoursup, In addition to the above, we compile a complete and meticulous file including termly reports, detailed teacher assessments, regular evaluations and information highlighting the student's commitment and profile. Higher education establishments appreciate the quality of our pedagogical follow-up, the accuracy of our assessments and the autonomy developed by our students along the way.

What specialities do you offer for the Baccalauréat exam?

The 7 specialities we offer (Mathematics, Physics-Chemistry, SVT, SES, HGGSP, LLCE English, Visual Arts) cover the vast majority of possible career paths: engineering schools, medicine, business, political science, preparatory classes, French and international universities. What's more, if a student wants a rare speciality that we don't offer, they can take it at the CNED in addition. This flexibility ensures that each student builds the optimum pathway for his or her project.

How do our teachers approach teaching?

Our teachers are experienced and accustomed to the demands of the baccalauréat. Their expertise ensures methodical and rigorous preparation for the exams, particularly the Grand Oral, for which progressive and structured training is provided from Première onwards. The stability of our teaching team - with teachers who have been involved for over ten years - guarantees consistency, continuity and a detailed knowledge of academic expectations. Our approach is based on personalised support: each student receives genuine attention, with tailored objectives and regular feedback. We also place great emphasis on stress management and mental preparation. Students learn to organise their work, structure their thoughts orally and approach exams with method and confidence.

Can my child join your school during the school year?

Yes, subject to availability. We regularly welcome students from traditional secondary schools in seconde, première or even Terminale. The small number of students (around 15), the caring and personalised support and the relationship of trust with the teachers mean that they are quickly integrated. Many students join us because they are looking for a more human, less stressful environment, while maintaining an excellent academic level. Our experienced teaching team ensures a smooth transition.
